  • Chiropractic Care

Doctors of Chiropractic believe in natural and conservative methods of health care. They have a deep respect for the human body’s ability to heal itself without the use of surgery or medication. Chiropractic devotes special attention to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the effects these disorders have on the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal manipulation or adjustment.

  • Cox® Technic

A particular method of chiropractic care, the Cox Distraction Manipulation Technic is a gentle decompression method that works with the body’s natural design to relieve neck and back pain. The doctor uses gentle traction to widen the spinal canal, which reduces pressure on spinal nerves and restores normal motion to the spine. Dr. Gray is one of the few chiropractors in North Carolina using the table specially designed by Dr. James M. Cox of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dr. Gray is also certified as a Cox instructor.

The technique has been used successfully on Olympic and professional athletes (NFL, NHL, Major League Baseball, and professional cyclists, including Lance Armstrong). Conditions may include headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fascitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow.

  • K-Laser Treatment

The K-Laser uses a dual frequency infrared laser which allows the laser to get deep enough to heal the tissue and aid in pain relief at the same time. The infrared laser interacts with the tissue at the cellular level. Along with increased circulation the ATP system (energy) is sped up, which increases metabolic activity within the cell, improving the transport of nutrients, water and oxygen to the cell. The process also initiates the release of nitric oxide and other contaminants, which together exponentially speeds up the healing process. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain.
